Of course you already know from the prior post we were without power for 39 and a half hours and truely believe that if not for the neighbors Dr. sending the fax of his medical needs we would still not have power.
I spoke with the power guys who removed the tree from the lines and they had come from Clayton Ga to help out here in this area because the outtages were so wide spread... the other night of the 10 or so friends in a 20 mile radius only ONE had power. we all live in different areas some in the country some in neighboring towns and counties. YET across the street from us had power as of 7 am Thursday morning.
We were ok, for us the heat is a bear but, when you live in the county like us if you have no power you also have NO WATER and that is ROUGH.
you can't shower to cool off you can't flush toilets you can't add water to the fish pond. It stinks.
I had taken these pics one day last week when we still had the easy set pool with a couple inches of water and Bradley and Lori and I had been playing in the water ... Bradley got bored and decided to play in the yard. (some pics are all wonky as in size and placement but you can click them to make them bigger )
Bradley loves his swing ... he giggles and says WEEEEEEEE WEEEEEEE when you swing him high...I cracked up when I loaded the pics and the look on his face said it all to me.
this pic (above) is my favorite of all time of him I am hoping to be able to have a big print made of it someday.when lori was going through her stuff she had this notepad and I claimed it ... it is totally me :)
this paper is from the storm, its high up in the tree above the fish pond... the winds were whipping in alldirections like crazy... the paint pan and cans from the front were up by the well in the back and the 5 gallon bucket from the well that we use to wash the autos was down in the front... I dont recall ever seeing anything quite like that storm ever in my life. it was super scarey!!!!!
this tree fell across the road in front of our house... the tree that was keeping our power off is up the hill from this in a clear cut place in the woods... it was a BIG tall tree that took the power guys about 30 minutes to remove once they got here.
at the top of the hill heading out from our house is where this house sits... the tree nicked the house but no real damage, they were so lucky!
this house is on the corner the pine tree really tore up the top and right side of his roof ...
this house it about 2 miles from us as the crow flies ... I could not get a better view as traffic was pretty heavy heading out to fort gordon... they had a lot of damage out there too... dad do you remember where the old garys hamburgers is??? I took this from thier parking lot.
Later in the evening we got out the monster Marshmellows and started playing .... and laughing and choking and laughing more.... Lori was working on getting it all in her mouth...
Of course this had to turn into a contest ... there is no way it couldn't have.... Schlena is so cute no matter what shes doing and I just love this photo :)
things were getting quite messy as the contest rolled on...
YEAH shut up.... we all knew I would WIN!!!
a few seconds after this pic (above) The marshmellow SHOT out and Lori got caught in the spray... amid much much side splitting LAUGHTER... *see the marshmello on her glasses LOL*
and that is the short version of the last 5 days in our house. :)
Have a fantabulous weekend and keep all who still dont have power here in thought and prayers as the heat is brutal... but THANK GOD it was not a tornado like so many have suffered through in the recient past.

you guys are so awesome! making the best of a bad situation is the only way to get by. I had no idea that you guys had such severe storms, wow thank goodness you didnt have damage!
The monster marshmallow contest is hysterical. LOL
No power? Southern heat? I'd be wearing some of that Bradley-wear, too!
Yowsah, that's a big marshmallow. I knew the bugs were big in the South, but I had no idea about the 'mallows. YIKES!
This answers my FB question about the power being back on. I can't imagine the heat part...UGH.
I've never seen marshmallows this big and you guys are hilarious!
Bradley is just too darn cute for his on good!!! Love the photos :)
Soooo glad you all are okay....
Wow-what a storm you had--so glad your power is back and everyone is safe. We were in SC for a week til yesterday--and the heat was brutal, too. Your pork loin and corn make me wish for some fresh corn and some BBQ!
Oh you poor thing. The only relief I have in this sweltering heat is the AC and no WATER!?!?!? yeah it literally stinks. Yuk! These are times you wish you could go and stay in a hotel somewhere.
Bradley's little nakey pics are so cute. He's losing his baby fat!
I can't imagine it being THAT hot! Well...maybe when I'm having a HOT FLUSH I can! ha ha ha
Funny faces you girls are pulling trying to eat those marshmellows! OOO I love marshmellows.
I can not imagine what it must have been like in that heat but you guys made the best of a bad situation.
Bradley seemed to weather the whole thing well.... he had the best answer... water and no clothes.
Those marshmellow pics are too funny.
I don't know anyone who does a better job of making the most out of a bad situation. You really are an inspiration, Peach.
